--It's getting to that time of year when (my) thoughts turn to steamboating on the California Delta. This year I'm thinking of building a new powerplant by modding an I.C. engine from something like a Geo Metro. Anyone else interested in this sort of thing?

Thu, March 26, 2009 - 9:10 PMVery kewl with OHV; gotta make me one of those! What's bore/stroke on the compressor? Ever get over to Santa Rosa? Going to bring it to Makers Faire? I have a recollection of a previous incarnation of that engine there.. I'll be bringing my calliope: www.youtube.com/watch
It gpbbles air (80psi) but have yet to try it on steam; the goal being to run it on that or propane depending on the venue, bwahaha. -

Sat, April 4, 2009 - 2:24 PMI am bringing a smaller boiler (25lb) that I am building it is a hack of a demand heater I got at urban ore.
Pretty compact I am thinking of making a back pack boiler and a steam powered flashlight just caus it would be stupid. -
